The Last Generation
Pulled from the archives, The Last Generation documents Stelios Dukes and Giorgios Pangos, blacksmiths from the village of Mandamados, Lesvos, Greece. In 1998, Mary Snell and Andrea Sarris took a Hi8 video camera and shot the short documentary as part of the University of Southern Maine's Arts and Cultural Exchange. The documentary was edited on an Avid, output to beta copied to vhs and then to dvd. Today's version was shot off a computer screen with a HD camera and exported using a quicktime conversion to a mp4 format. So how many generations has the Last Generation survived? You tell us?
