F R I E N D S

Thanks friends near and far for reaching out. Let's keep it light and fluffy.

My heart grew when I walked out my door to a soft Charmin pack on my doorstep. I didn't need TP but it did make me feel more comfortable knowing I had backup.

I received messengers, texts, phone calls, facebook check ins, instagram, twitter, snapchat and email communication from my friends.

"Food for your soul" as my friend Heidi said.

We talked about family, friends, home, morals, values, the boobs in government, healthcare, the economy, and entitlement.

BACK TO REALITY

The one thing that is worrisome to me is the complete disconnect of some people about healthcare. Friday the 13th, the last one in March, two weeks ago, I sent off my information to Massachusetts Health Connector. I got Mass Health - July 2019 - another thing I feel no shame about.

I am one of those Americans who lives pay check to pay check. In February 2020, I sent my State and Federal tax returns in. This triggered my Massachusetts Health Connector account.

Call it psychic or a premonition of what was to come but on a level I knew the shit was about to hit the fan.

"Shelter in place" was my response to Nance in Maine when she invited me to come up for the weekend. "I can't, I am sticking close to home," was my response.

Once you go through an economic depression (another blog post) you inherently know what it means when the bottom falls out. Ironically enough, Friday, March 13th would be the last day, I would be going into one of my jobs.

My Mantra: STAY HEALTHY! So, I think I am covered but I don't know?

I had an old friend reach out telling me she was "thinking of me."

SO SWEET

I had called her to make sure she had made it back into this country with her family. We spoke about covid 19 tests and that she was exposed to someone who tested positive to the virus. In her State, she can't take a test because she isn't sick enough. I mean how f....ed up is that? And now she is in quarantine with her family.

Why can't we get more tests? Why are we as a Nation and the World so unprepared with PPE - personal protective equipment? This Mary N., makes me worrisome.

I can't control what is going on. I can control how I respond. I couldn't be happier being home and talking to my FRIENDS.

STAY HEALTHY and during a pandemic / endemic crisis keep checking in with your friends and be prepared to become a LEADER.
